American Apparel XL Model Search Follow-Up

Remember the hideous and offensive language used in the American Apparel XL Campaign: The Next Big Thing, which made it nearly impossible to feel good, let alone applaud the addition to bigger options?  If you don't, you can read my first post about it here.  I posted a set of pictures on my tumblr, but I felt like this is noteworthy and deserved a full blog post!

Size 12--remember, the average size an American woman wears--Nancy Upton, has entered the contest, but not in the way most have.  Her photographs are a very necessary commentary on the on why the company chose such anti-curvy/fat/plus-size fatphobic language when searching for just that!  And she makes her feelings about the language as obvious as it can get.  You can see all of the photos on her tumblr here!  She is already in the number one spot for winning, but you can vote for her here and show your support and keep her in the number one spot!

One of the photos Nancy Upton used for the model search.

The first photo you will see of her on her tumblr!
