I thought this was awesome too! You bring up a very good point about funding. I wonder if there was funding or grant money received, or independent wealth. His family seemed very involved, so I won't if they financially contributed as well.
What I find most interesting about this is it opens up the discussion about how an artist can create in many different mediums, but are usually pigeon-holed.
